Are you an explorer of the unknown, "The Twilight Zone" of ghosts, UFOs, crop circles or other "strange" subjects that might be found in the classic Time-Life series of books, MYSTERIES OF THE UNKNOWN?  If so, you've found a kindred spirit here.  I'm sometimes asked how an educated person can be interested in this research.  More often, I simply get a look that ranges from "you've got to kidding" to "WACKO!"   If you've ever spoken openly about paranormal experiences, you know what I mean.  I wrote the following little story as a response to those folks.

In the shadow of a giant oak, upon the forest floor, rested hundreds of acorns. A few of these acorns, pondering their place in creation, came to the radical conclusion that they had once been part of the oak and might one day be transformed into similar magnificent beings.
When the other acorns heard this they howled with laughter until their shells ached. "You fools!" they chortled. "Look at that oak. It looks nothing like us. Its very branches reach into the stars. Get a grip on reality!"
And from then on, the acorn majority shunned the little group and sneered at them saying, "Pay no attention to those acorns. They're a bunch of nuts!"

However, I must add a warning.  This area of inquiry isn't without dangers.  I'm not just refering to rabid propagandists like Penn and Teller, and the pack of deceptive debunkers who make a living from shows like theirs.  These spinners of half-truths are minor league deceivers compared to those in the astral realm.

Like the fascinating, but darkly dangerous carnie shows that used to tour America, we should approach The Astral Carnival with caution -- and never stay too late.

DOWSING AND APPLIED KINESIOLOGY

In the early seventies, I studied kinesiology with Dr. Clark Odden of Ogden, Utah. It was apparent then that dowsing and applied or behavioral kinesiology must tap into the same universal source.

I'm a student of the work of Dr. David R. Hawkins, director of The Institute for Advanced Theoretical Research. His book POWER vs. FORCE both validates the scientific basis of dowsing and details exactly how we can contact the communal consciousness to determine the answer to any "yes or no" question. His website is http://veritaspub.com. Although his work is primarily focused on the positive side of spiritual evolution, all his books offer insight into the negative entities of the astral.

His work is a milestone in proving the validity of access to truth available to those with genuine integrity. Dr. David R.  DOWSING is one such tool. My ancestors practiced this art for centuries. After my great-grandfather was disabled by the wounds he suffered during the Civil War, he used the dowsing skills his father taught him to make a living in pioneer Iowa.
