| The Phantom Hand |

On January 11, 2003, I conducted an investigation in the "Avenues" area of Salt Lake City. This is where the mysterious cat mutilations, which have been reported nationally, have occured. I photographed numerous orbs and the following unique ectoplasm. There was nothing visible in the air to account for these dense clouds of ectoplasm. |

 There is an inverted PENTAGRAM on the column of the building behind the "Phantom Hand". Perhaps only a coincidence, or perhaps not. Could the rounded ecto at the top of the picture be the phantom's chin? |

 This picture was taken moments before The Hand in another, nearby, location. Do you see a face in the center of the ecto cloud? Perhaps, two? In addition to the large orb on the left, there are at least two in the ectoplasm cloud. |

 This ecto was so close it completely obscures the house behind it. The entire cloud is a face-like form, but a not-quite human face. All three of these etctoplasm photos were taken within several minutes and a one block area of each other. |

 This house is typical of the neighborhood and typically surrounded with orbs. There were few homes I photographed here that didn't have a several orbs nearby. |

 Old neighborhoods like this one are frequently excellent places to photograph more than meets the eye. Orbs are often found clustered in trees and bushes, which may support the belief that some are nature spirits. |

 Note the dense swarm of orbs at the upper left. The only other time I have captured such numerous orbs was in a mental hospital graveyard investigation. Just click on the "Restless Souls" link at the left to see those pictures. |

 The large orb here is beautifully detailed and some say it is smiling. Although I didn't use rods or a pendulum this location was selected through the "dowsing effect" of feeling or sensing a more than ordinary energy in this neighborhood. Intuition an important part of paranormal investigation. |
